1st American Independent Cinema Showcase in Rzeszów
On March 5–7, the Alumni Association organized the American Independent Cinema Showcase in Rzeszów. The event’s partners were the American Film Festival (Wrocław) and the Regional Film Foundation / Kino Zorza (Rzeszów). The Showcase’s program was based on the 16th edition of the American Film Festival from 2025 and featured three American independent film productions (one documentary and two feature films).

For the fifth time, members of our Association met as part of the “Alumni Carnival.” In January and February this year, Polish alumni held a series of regional meetings, having fun, participating in interesting events, and discussing plans for the future.
The meetings were attended not only by members of the Alumni Association, but also by participants of all US Department of State programs who have not yet joined the “Alumni family,” such as FLEXers and Fulbrighters.

Yesterday, members of the Alumni Association held elections to the Audit Committee during the Extraordinary General Meeting.
After the vote, Maja Meissner, Piotr Kotelnicki, and Przemysław Schmidt took up their positions on the Committee. We congratulate them on their election and look forward to working together for the good of the Association.
At the same time, the management board and the entire community would like to thank the previous members of the Committee for their many years of supporting the Association’s activities with their knowledge, experience, and commitment. Krzysztof Cichocki, Aneta Pacek-Łopalewska, and Małgorzata Zasuńska – these were wonderful years of cooperation.

On November 3-7, members of the Alumni Association took part in the “Community Engagement Exchange Program. Tech for Impact Summit” conference. The conference was held in Warsaw and was jointly organized by the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) and the US Embassy in Poland.

The event was organized by the Staropolska Academy of Applied Sciences in Kielce, the Jerzy Turowicz Association, the Tygodnik Powszechny Club, and Piwnica Powszechna in Krakow. The Alumni Association was the patron of the event.

As usual, we started our Integration Trip with a barbecue, tasty food, good drinks, and long conversations between the members of our Association. Some of us already knew each other from previous trips, but there were also people who came for the first time. And Friday’s barbecue was a great time to get to know each other better.

The Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University and Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. invited to the auditorium of the Collegium Novym of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow for the weekend of June 13-14, 2025.
