The town of Spała, in the Łódź voivodeship, was the destination of this year’s integration trip for members of the Alumni Association.
Our reunion began on Friday evening, September 20, when Alumni successively came together for an evening barbecue prepared by the team of the “Ostoja” Formation and Retreat House in Spała. For some Alumni it was a meeting after a year of separation (we had seen each other on previous integration trips), and for some it was the first meeting. Integration took place until late at night, until we politely dispersed to our rooms.
As always, during integration trips, the second day is the most intense and interesting.
First, we had an excellent guide, passionate and a lover of this land.
Second, the weather was good for us, so the tour was a great pleasure.
Third, we saw the amazing attractions and attributes of the area, namely: the Church of St. Giles in Inowłódz (the nooks and crannies of this church were left especially for us), the site of the capture by the Germans during World War II of Maj. Henryk Dobrzański “Hubal”, a German railroad and command bunker from World War II, historical sites in Spała (the chapel of Presidents of Poland, the open-air church, the site of the summer palace of the Russian tsars, the bison monument), and finally the Central Sports Center, where our Olympic athletes practice.
Fourth, Alumni met in the evening to get to know each other better and talk about the Association.
On the third day of our trip, we do not slow down. We savor the beauty of the “Blue Springs” Nature Reserve and the Pilica River Open Air Museum. This is what we needed. The tranquility of the beautiful nature of the Reserve and the interesting history of the region, presented in the Open Air Museum.
The last element of our integration was the most difficult moment – parting. Three days, and how interesting, during which you could meet amazing people. See you next year!
