On the weekend of 24-25 July, the members of the Board met in Warsaw to participate in the workshops aiming for creating the future strategy of the Alumni Association. A strategy that is to answer not only the questions of what our Association is today, what tasks is to be carried out and in which direction to go, but also what benefits will its members get by engaging in the activities of our “Alumni family”. On July 15, 2021, a meeting was held with this year’s FLEX alumni who had their adventure as part of “Virtual Programming”. The ‘Welcome Evening’ was organized by the American Councils for International Education – Poland.
The Alumni Association was represented by its board members: Jan Gasparski and Agata Cieszewska who shared their experiences of participating in research programs at universities in the USA. They emphasized the importance of our organization, which brings together participants of programs sponsored by the Department of State, and at the same time encouraging active involvement in its activities.

In the evening on July 8, 2021, Patrick Slowinski, the US Consul General in Krakow invited the Alumni to his residence for a meeting within the “American National Parks Night”. We could watch a movie about the “Bystrze” student tourist club expedition to Grand Canyon Colorado, USA.
Before and after the presentation, we had the opportunity to reminisce and talk to the invited guests as well as enjoy the tasty buffet in the beautiful surroundings of the residential garden.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away on March 26 of Dr. Franciszek Lyra, co-founder of the Alumni Association, the first Polish Fulbrighter (1959), lecturer in American culture and literary studies at the University of Warsaw, an extremely warm and kind Man, our Friend …

On December 31 we finished our campaign of celebrating the 80th anniversary of “The International Visitor Leadership Program”, i.e. the well-known IVLP, implemented and financed by the U.S. Department of State.
Within a few months, we presented the Polish participants of this program on Facebook and LinkedIn. You could read their memories of stay in the US and their opinions related to the implementation of this program. Additionally, each report was supplemented with photos and/or videos.

2020 was a period when we were forced to abandon our live meetings and move them online. It was then that the idea of ”Meetings over a coffee” was born, which aroused great interest among members of the Alumni Association. Read More

28 people (Alumni with their families) came to Jaroszowiec near Olkusz (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) for the weekend of September 25-27, 2020. We were hosted by the “Leśny Zakątek” recreation center. During these days and in this place, an integration meeting of the members of the Alumni Association took place. Read More
