18th Anniversary of the Alumni Association

On January 17, 2025, we began celebrating the Alumni Association’s 18th birthday. To mark the occasion, just starting on January 17, we presented daily accounts or memories of our stay in the United States described, recorded and laced with photos by our Association members. These accounts were presented by people who were admitted to the Association in the subsequent years of our organization’s existence. In turn, this means that we present 18 wonderful memories, presented on social media: Facebook and LinkedIn.

At the same time, to all participants in the US Department of State programs and members of the Alumni Association, we wish all the best for OUR 18th birthday !

A series of meetings and discussions under the common title “Portraits of America”

Beginning in January 2025, the Alumni Association, in cooperation with the Cracow Club of “Tygodnik Powszechny”, are launching a new project under the common title: “Portraits of America.”

The United States of America is not only politics, economy, military sector and mass media. According to us, it is above all a diverse society and a multicolored culture and art. During the meetings, together with invited guests and the audience, we want to talk about contemporary America, its internal problems, great ideas, dynamic society and multi-level culture. We want to show different “Portraits of America” while trying to reveal its true face.

For our talks, interviews and discussions we have invited members of the Alumni Association, as well as scholars, journalists, specialists and fascinators for whom the United States and its society have no secrets.

We meet once a month, or more precisely on the last Thursday of a given month, at the Powszechna Cellar in Krakow. The meeting is reported LIVE on social media on the websites of the Alumni Association and the “Tygodnik Powszechny” Club.

Our reunion began on Friday evening, September 20, when Alumni successively came together for an evening barbecue prepared by the team of the “Ostoja” Formation and Retreat House in Spała. For some Alumni it was a meeting after a year of separation (we had seen each other on previous integration trips), and for some it was the first meeting.
