In a secluded spot, familiar to residents of one of the banks of the Vistula River capital, representatives of Polish and Belarusian American exchange programs met for a summer picnic on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The initiative was sponsored by American Councils Lithuania, bringing together the Belarusian refugee community. A dozen Warsaw Alumni with Vice President Dariusz Góra responded to the invitation and met with an equally large representation of Belarusians residing in Poland.

International Conference: “US and EU Perspectives on ESG: Towards a Sustainable World or a Dangerous Utopia?”
In the last days of June (28-29), Krakow hosted the international conference “2nd US-CEE Connection Weekend: US and EU Perspectives on ESG: Towards a Sustainable World or a Dangerous Utopia?”, which was organized by the School of American Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Columbus School of Law of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. The Alumni Association was the Honorary Patron of the event.

It was a wonderful meeting of Polish and Belarusian Alumni of the US Department of State programs.
And it all started with the acquaintance of Rafal Pieprzyk – President of the Alumni Association with Vadzimir Zarankin, who was the tutor of Belarusian Alumni at the US Embassy in Minsk. We had the opportunity to meet during the workshop “Alumni Focused Strategy Seminar: Best Practices, Success Stories and Alumni Associations” organized by the US Embassy in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. We were there in September 2018.

On June 22, 2024, the Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association took place.
After a couple of years of conducting online deliberations, we returned to meet in the ‘real’. We met to summarize the activities of our Association in 2023. We did not give up on connecting online with people from outside Warsaw, so we had the opportunity to test, for the first time in the history of Alumni, conducting the meeting in hybrid form. And it worked !
