Integration trip to Pyzdry

In September 17, 18, and 19 Alumni met in Pyzdry, Greater Poland, to spend a long weekend rich in attractions. These days, we were granted hospitality by the Nature Education Center in the town of Ląd on the Warta River.

On Friday we were welcomed very nicely, having a traditional meeting with an excellent grill. The program of the stay was attractive. The organizer of the event was Wiesława Kowalska, owner of Folwark Wójtostwo (Mayors Farm) and a lover of the Pyzdry land and its history. It was at her instigation that on Saturday we visited the post-Evangelical chapel in Orlin Wielka, the forest cemetery, the bog iron ore mine and an abandoned farm in Wierzchy, the Józek cottage in a forest clearing, and an iron house in Nowolipsk. On Sunday we visited the Mayors Farm itself and the fruit of the works of Wiesia and Przemek Kowalski. In addition, we had the opportunity to taste local products from the Farm. There was also time for the affairs of our Association. During the Saturday evening we organized a meeting of the Alumni. We were able to get to know each other better and talk about our experiences from the US. We talked about matters related to the activities of the Association, plans for the future and development of the “Alumni Family”. The whole stay lasted almost three days, but due to the great atmosphere, excellent food and delicious drinks, rich program and great company, it was a time that passed by far too quickly. We hope to return to Greater Poland someday.
