For the third time, the Alumni Association was a co-organizer of the American Day, which was held in Katowice on May 23, 2019. The event was hosted by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice. The aim of the event was to promote cooperation between Poland and the USA as well as to nurture Polish-American economic relations.

Congratulations for Ms. Agnieszka
For many years, Ms. Agnieszka Krzywosz has been dealing with the affairs of our Association in its Warsaw headquarters at Aleja Niepodległości. Her quiet, efficient and fully free work proved to be indispensable for ensuring the correct flow of information and correspondence. The board of the Association decided to honor Ms. Agnieszka with a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative engraving, although we are aware that this is only a symbolic expression of the magnitude of our gratitude. Alumni spring trip to Szczawnica
On 17-19 May, Alumni went to Szczawnica in the Pieniny mountains to spend time together, get to know each other, have fun, and at the same time talk about the future of the Association.

President of the Alumni at the European Economic Congress
On 13-15 May 2019, for the 11th time, the European Economic Congress took place in Katowice. It is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe devoted to the economy, finance and business. Read More
Scientific conference at Adam Mickiewicz University
On May 10, 2019, on the initiative of the American Law Society, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, an international scientific conference devoted to American political, economic and legal thought took place. It was the third edition of this event, entirely carried out in English. Read More
Our people at Global-in Network conference in Croatia
On May 2-5, Witold Janas represented the Alumni Association and the Polish community of graduates of the Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellowship program at the international conference ‘Global-in Network’ in Zagreb, Croatia. Read More
General and Election Assembly
This year’s General Assembly of the Alumni Association has also been its electoral meeting. The Assembly took place in the center of Warsaw, in the seminar room of Kondrat and Partners Law Office, designed with great taste. Read More
Young Opole city and the IT technologies
Alumni Association together with the US Consulate in Krakow invited young people from secondary schools from Opole and the Opolskie Voivodeship to the seminar: Development of IT technology in the 100 years of history of Polish-American relations. The meeting took place on March 19 in the Opole Exhibition and Congress Center. Read More
A Debate at UKSW
On 8 March 2019, in the Robert Schuman Hall of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (UKSW), a debate took place as part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Polish-American diplomatic relations. The organizers of the debate were: the Department of Regional Strategic Studies, the American Embassy in Warsaw and the Alumni Association. The debate entitled Democracy in the United States was attended by: Prof. David Forte, constitutionalist from Cleveland State University, currently on the Fulbright scholarship in Warsaw, and Prof. Zbigniew Lewicki, American Studies expert from UKSW. The debate was led by Prof. Dariusz Góra-Szopiński, Head of the above-mentioned University Department, and also Vice-President of our Association.

Warsaw celebration of the Fulbright Program anniversary
In the Novotel hotel in Warsaw (former Forum Hotel), on March 7, 2019, the ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Fulbright program in Poland took place. Established immediately after the end of World War II, during the administration of Harry Truman, the program of international exchange of students and scientists, found its first partner from behind the Iron Curtain right here in Poland. Franciszek Lyra, the first Polish Fulbright scholarship holder, then a freshly promoted master of English at the University of Warsaw, currently senior university lecturer and a very active member of our Association, left for the United States in 1959.
