We are delighted to say that it was a unique event, and we were able to be part of it! The Kłodzko Education Conference, which took place on October 23, 2025, in Polanica Zdrój, is an initiative born out of the need for change – real, grassroots change rooted in the local context.
And do you know what was the best thing about this event? That young people were there – without whom there is no point in talking about education!
What exactly did the participants talk about?
Block 1 hashtag# HowNotToWasteTheCrisis, during which school principals whose schools were destroyed by last year’s floods talked about their experience of the crisis and the resulting changes, and then discussed with those who came to their aid: why they help, how they perceive social responsibility for education, and how to build on this difficult lesson.
Block 2 hashtag#HowToRebuildASchool, during which there was talk of a change in approach to the essence of education in light of concepts such as the common good and respect for knowledge in the Google era. Pupils from ZSS Kłodzko presented the results of a survey conducted by high school students on what is important to pupils in education in a professional and interesting way. The last part of this block was a panel on communication – how to do it effectively in education (is it enough to agree with parents so that they leave the principal’s office as quickly as possible?).
Block 3 hashtag#HowToSupportChange – a conversation about Finnish education; a panel on failure and setbacks, i.e., how to approach difficult situations in ongoing processes and how to talk about failure in the classroom; a presentation on how to instill a sense of influence in young children (preschoolers) – through working with democratic and civic values.
Finally, a fantastic concert by the exceptional bluesman Arek Korolik.
We would like to thank our colleague, Paulina Roś, who co-initiated and co-organized the conference, invited alumni to participate in it, and enabled the Alumni Association to be a partner in this initiative.
We are glad that together we were able to create a space for change and reflection.
